Arts and Culture

On campus or in the community, you'll quickly notice that art and culture play a large role in the life of the faculty, staff, students and community. On campus a wide range of local, national and internationally acclaimed artists and performance groups are hosted at the Krannert Art Museum, the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Assembly Hall, and the Japan House to name a few. Off-campus the annual Roger Ebert's Film Festival, hosted by the College of Media and prominent film critic and university alumnus Roger Ebert, is a draw to downtown Champaign, bringing a cast of producers, writers, actors and directors to campus with Roger Ebert, festival guests and academic scholars.
