I-Art: After School Arts Programming
CCII, in partnership with the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center, coordinates the planning and staffing of the Mo’ Betta Music Program, an after school outreach program focused on vocal and instrumental music. CCII works with school principals and music teachers in the local schools to provide music enrichment experiences to local elementary middle and high school students. University students and professionals provide volunteer instruction in jazz and gospel music. Volunteers currently work with students at the Urbana Schools, the Don Moyers Boys and Girls Club, and Salem Baptist Church.
