I-Remember: Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration
CCII serves as a resource to the cities of Champaign and Urbana, and to University units in their initiatives to engage students and community members in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration activities. Campus contributions to the MLK Commemoration include lectures sponsored by campus units, an essay contest aimed at students in the local schools, two community celebrations highlighting service and scholarship, and a family-friendly closing exposition featuring local and regional visual and performing artists, the winners of the MLK essay contest, and hands-on activities for children.
