Magrath Awards

The Office of Public Engagement manages the nomination process for the C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Award. The Magrath Award is sponsored by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU). The goal of the Peter Magrath Community Engagement Award is to recognize the outreach and engagement partnership efforts of four year public universities.

Application Process

January: University nominations are due and two nominees will be selected and notified.

March: The applications of the two nominees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will be submitted to APLU.

May: Regional winners notified.

October: Regional winners will be announced, receive awards and make presentations at the annual Outreach Scholarship Conference.

November: Regional winners and video stories of the five projects will be presented at the APLU Annual Meeting and the national winner will be announced. All five regional winners and their presidents are expected to attend.
