Housing

Capitol Hill townhouseHousing Arrangements and Costs
While in DC, you will live in an historic, Capitol Hill row townhouse. You will share a bedroom with one or two other students, typically also from the U of I.

Illinois in Washington locates and arranges for your housing through Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH). The cost for the housing is approximately $1000 per month per student. This rent covers fully furnished living space, utilities, household goods (light bulbs, kitchen and dinnerware), laundry facilities, iron and ironing board, cable TV, and wireless Internet access (you will need to provide your own computer).

You will have to make an initial security deposit and pay an application fee. After that, your monthly rental payments will be charged directly to your student account at the U of I.
